Alfano And Allen Honored As WestConn Athletics Wolves Of The Week

10/23/2024 2:15:00 PM

DANBURY, Conn. - Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday.  The eighth Wolves of the Week of 2024 fall season have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the soccer pitch and on the gridiron. Women's soccer senior Adriana Alfano (New Milford, Conn.) and football sophomore Dae'Shawn Allen (White Plains, N.Y.) have been named as the Wolves of the Week.

Alfano totaled two goals in the last two Little East Conference (LEC) match-ups for the Wolves. She scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win against LEC arch rival Eastern Connecticut, bumping the teams overall to 9-5-2, 4-1 in conference play. Against LEC opponent UMass Boston on Saturday, Alfano scored her sixth goal of the season to help the Wolves tie the Beacons, 3-3, on the road.  Allen paved the way for the Wolves on Homecoming, as WestConn trounced Bridgewater State, 49-7. Allen scored the first two touchdowns of the game on passes of 13 and 23 yards and added a third score on a 35-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter against the Bears. Allen finished the game with 13 catches for 151 yards.
