Seven WestConn Football Players Take Landmark All-Conference Recognition

DANBURY, Conn. –  Western Connecticut State University graduate Kile Jackson (Danbury, Conn.), senior Tyon Grimes (Hempstead, N.Y.), juniors Markus Faucett (Bronx, N.Y.) and Serge Lagardere (Stamford, Conn.) were each named to the Landmark Conference 2025 Football All-Conference First Team.  WestConn freshman Tamarion LaFortune (West Haven, Conn.) graced the All-Landmark Second Team, while junior Dylan Jackson (Monroe, Conn.) and sophomore Marciel Do Amaral (Danbury, Conn.) made the Landmark All-Conference Football Honorable Mention this fall. WestConn, coached by Kevin Jones, finished the 2025 season with a 5-5 overall record and tied for fourth with Catholic and Moravian in its first season in the Landmark with a 2-4 mark against league opponents.  

Grimes, who was a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Conference First Teamer in 2023 and 2024, totaled 30 tackles (20 solo), a half tackle for loss, team-highs of two interceptions (tied) and nine pass breakups, and a fumble recovery in 10 games as a starting cornerback this fall. He returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown in a win against Catholic.  Grimes is a graduate of Roosevelt High School.

Jackson, a two-time All-MASCAC Second Team selection, registered 29 tackles (14 solo), 7.5 tackles for loss, and a team-high six sacks, an interception, two fumble recoveries and a blocked kick while starting all 10 games at defensive end for WestConn in 2025.  An alum of Danbury High School, Jackson graduated from WestConn in May with a bachelor's degree in business management and is pursuing his master's degree in business administration.

Faucett had a 36 catches (4th in Landmark) for conference-highs of 678 yards and six touchdowns (tied) while starting all 10 games at wide receiver for the Wolves in 2025.  A graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School, Faucett is majoring in business at WestConn.

Lagardere, an All-MASCAC Second Team return specialist in 2024, averaged a conference-best 11.4 yards per attempt (23rd in nation) on 14 punt returns 17.8 yards per try on 22 kickoff returns in 2024.  Lagardere returned one punt 75 yards for a touchdown in a win at Kean and also caught a team-high 37 passes (3rd in Landmark) for 328 yards and rushed six times for 28 yards as a starting wide receiver for the Wolves this season.  A graduate of Archbishop Stepinac High School in New York, Lagardere is majoring in business at WestConn.  

LaFortune caught 22 passes for 507 yards (5th in Landmark) and four touchdowns (T8th in Landmark) in nine games as a rookie wide receiver for the Wolves in 2025.  He led the Landmark Conference and ranked sixth in the nation with 23.05 yards per reception.  LaFortune is a graduate of West Haven High School.

Jackson completed 179 passes in 305 attempts for a Landmark-best 2,419 yards and 16 touchdowns and a 133.4 QB efficiency rating (2nd in Landmark) while starting all 10 games as the Wolves' quarterback in 2024.  He completed 58.7 percent of his passes and also ran the ball for three more touchdowns.  Jackson, who was the Landmark Offensive Player of the Week twice this season, is a graduate of Masuk High School.

Do Amaral made 10 (3rd in Landmark, 5th in nation per game) of 12 field goal tries to tie for eighth nationally in field goal percentage at .833, with a long of 37 yards, added 31 PAT's in 34 attempts and rushed for a two-point conversion for 63 total points (2nd in Landmark) as WestConn's starting placekicker in 2024. He also averaged 49.6 yards on nine kickoffs and was honored as the Landmark Special Teams Player of the Week once this fall.  A graduate of Danbury High School and also an all-rookie hurdler for the Wolves track and field team last spring, Do Amaral is majoring in economics at WestConn.
