DANBURY, Conn. - WestConn Athletics is pleased to announce a new awards program for its student-athletes to spotlight their outstanding performances in their given sports the previous.  Each week, one female and one male student-athlete will be selected by the department as the Wolves of the Week and the awardees will be announced on Wednesdays.  The first-ever Wolves of the Week of 2024 fall season have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the field hockey turf and the soccer pitch.  Field hockey junior Reagan Schoen (Newtown, Conn.) and men's soccer graduate student Zachary Tuccitto (Clinton, Conn.) have been named as the Wolves of the Week.

Schoen totaled six goals in the first two games of the 2024 season, scoring three times in a 4-2 victory at St. Joseph (Conn.) adding another hat trick plus two assists in a 10-1 road win against the Elms College Blazers. Schoen was also honored as the Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts.

Tuccitto scored the lone Wolves goal in his WestConn debut in the men's soccer team's 5-1 loss at Vassar in the season opener.  His goal tied the game at 1-1 in the 10th minute of play.
