DANBURY, Conn. - Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday. The 17th overall and third Wolves of the Week of 2025 have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the track and the basketball court. Women's track and field senior Darline Fleurimond (Stamford, Conn.) and men's basketball junior Tayejon Lynch (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) have been named as the Wolves of the Week.
Fleurimond highlighted the Wolves' individual efforts in the Reggie Poyau Invitational at Brandeis University with top-16 finishes in the 60- and 300-meter races. Fleurimond posted a 10th-place time of 47.03 in the 300 meters and a 16th-place time of 8.73 in the 60 meters. WestConn will continue its inaugural track and field season on Saturday, as the Wolves travel to Middletown for the Wesleyan University Invitational.
Lynch was a steady performer in three WestConn men's basketball contests last week, totaling 15 points, five rebounds, and five steals at Rhode Island College, eight points, three rebounds, and two assists at Keene State, and 12 points, four boards, two assists, two steals, and a block in an 86-74 win over UMass-Dartmouth. Lynch is averaging 8.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game and leads the Wolves with 51 assists and 3 steals. WestConn will host Little East Conference (LEC) rival Plymouth State next on Saturday at 3 p.m.
