WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Freshman
Jordyn Grey (Naugatuck, Conn.) finished third in the discus throw, fourth in the shot put and eighth in the hammer throw, as the Western Connecticut State University Wolves came in seventh place in the team standings at the University of Hartford's Rage in the Cage Women's Outdoor Track and Field Invitational at The Grant Family Track and Field this afternoon.
WestConn totaled 13 point as a squad, nine points behind sixth-place Manhattanville, and the host Hartford Hawks won the team title with 232 points. The Wolves will head to Waterford, Connecticut on Friday and Saturday next weekend for the Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College.
Grey flung the discus 107'00" to earn six points in third place, tossed the shot 36'01.50" to collect five points in fourth place, and added her 12th point of WestConn's 13 with an eighth-place distance of 127'00" in the hammer. Fellow WestConn freshman
Laziah Quinonez (Manchester, Conn.) earned her team's other point with an eighth-place time of 28.40 in the 200-meter dash. Wolves rookie
Katelyn Zaloski (Danbury, Conn.) was just shy of scoring with a ninth-place time of 11:59.26 in the 3,000-meter run.
