NEW LONDON, Conn. - Freshman
Anthony Paulino (Bristol, Conn.) won the long jump and took third in the triple jump, as the Western Connecticut State University Wolves continued its inaugural men's outdoor track and field season in the Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College this weekend. The Wolves will compete in two meets next weekend, heading to Eastern Connecticut on Friday, April 18 for the Bonnie Edmondson Invitational and to Hartford for the Trinity Invitational the next day.
Paulino posted a winning distance of 22'04.25" in the long jump and leaped 42'06" in the triple jump. The Wolves exceled in the jumps, as freshman
Jeferson Encarnacion (Bridgeport, Conn.) was sixth in the high jump at 5'07" and sophomore
Zenghan Piao (Fairfield, Conn.) placed eighth in both the high jump at 5'03" and the triple jump at 39'00.25". Encarnacion added 11th-place distances in the long jump and triple jump. Senior
Kevin Wood (Bethel, Conn.) highlighted the throws with a 24th-place finish in the shot put.
