WILLIMANTIC, Conn.—
Zenghan Piao (Fairfield, Conn.) finished fourth in the long jump, while
Quasim Benson (Wilmington, Del.) placed sixth for the Western Connecticut State University men's track & field team at the Little East Conference (LEC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University, on Saturday. The Wolves earned eighth with 20 team points.
Piao had a 6.30-meter leap in the long jump, while Benson went 6.22 meters for a career best. In the triple jump, Piao also placed eighth after an 11.79-meter jump.
Aidan Kane (Woodstock, Conn.), Benson,
Ryan Andryuk (Goshen, N.Y.) and
Marciel Do Amaral (Danbury, Conn.) made up the 4x800 relay squad, securing sixth with a time of 8:40.47. Andryuk also clocked in at 51.57 in the 400-meter dash for a seventh-place finish.
Isaiah Dominguez (Norwalk, Conn.) threw a personal-best 41.01m in the discus to earn seventh place.
Ed Dalton (Naugatuck, Conn.) ran a career-best time of 33:12.16 in the 1000-meter run to finish seventh and
Nick Howlett (North Haven, Conn.) earned eighth in the 3000-meter steeplechase for a personal-best time of 10:15.39,
WestConn travels to the New England Division III Championships hosted at Springfield College on May 1-2.
