DANBURY, Conn. — Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday. The 13th Wolves of the Week in the 2025-26 year have been selected for their stellar performances on the court and the ice. Senior forward Leana Heitmann (East Syracuse, N.Y.) and first-year goaltender Liam Lane (Castle Rock, Colo.) were named Wolves of the Week.

Heitmann totaled 28 points, 28 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and a trio of steals. She racked up a double-double with game-highs of 22 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks in an away game against William Paterson University. The senior pulled down 14 boards against No. 10 Trinity College on Saturday.

In a Little East Conference matchup at New England College, Lane earned career-bests of 2.07 goals against average and .938 save percentage. The first-year denied 30 shots from the Pilgrims and only allowed a pair.
