Kayla Hnasko (Raritan, N.J), the Western Connecticut State University field hockey team fell at the University of Southern Maine, 5-0, in a Little East Conference matchup on Saturday.
With the loss, the Wolves dropped to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in league play, while the Huskies improved to 3-3 and 2-0.
It was all Southern Maine is this contest as they outshot the visitors, 24-0, and also snagged a commanding advantage in penalty corners, 20-1.
Abigail Chartier paced the Huskies with a goal and one assist. Four other players also notched goals for the hosts.
Chloe Arsenault broke the ice with her second goal of the season late in the first quarter. They would hold the 1-0 lead at halftime before erupting in the second half.
Sage Drinkwater sparked the flurry with a blast that found the back of the net midway thru the third quarter. The hosts would tack on another trio of goals in the fourth to round out the scoring.
WestConn will look to rebound when they meet visiting non-conference foe Elms College on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
