Kayla Hnasko (Raritan, N.J.) had another outstanding performance, making 10 saves, but the Western Connecticut State University field hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision at Worcester State University at Coughlin Field on Saturday.
The Wolves fall to 3-8 overall and are winless in the Little East Conference at 0-6 after Saturday's loss.
The Lancers improved to 8-4 and 5-1 in the league.
The hosts took a 1-0 lead following a goal from Grace Adams following a feed from Zoe Athanasopoulos at the 12:39 mark and held the slim advantage through intermission.
At almost the same point of the second half, Madison Avilla cracked her second marker of the season after Athanasopoulos dished out her second dime of the afternoon.
The Lancer finished with a 19-6 advantage in scoring attempts yet only managed to have one more, 5-4, penalty corners.
Madison Ferrara earned the victory in front of the cage after making four saves.
The Wolves will make up last week's postponed game at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, which was eventually called off because of lightning, on Thursday, October 13. Game time in North Dartmouth, Mass. is scheduled for 7 pm.
