PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Western Connecticut State University Wolves were picked to finish third in the Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Soccer 2026 Pre-Season Poll. The Wolves, coached by
Alex Harrison (11th Season), posted a 13-8-2 overall record and finished fifth place in the league standings with a 4-3-1 record last fall. WestConn downed Rhode Island College, 4-1, in the conference first round and blanked Eastern Connecticut State University, 2-0 in the semifinals. However, the Wolves fell 3-0 in the finals against Southern Maine University. Eastern Connecticut received 60points and six first-place votes to rank No. 1 in the 2026 LEC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll, while Southern Maine University was next with 52 points and one first-place point. WestConn rounded out the top three with 51 points had one first-place vote.
The Wolves open the 2026 season on the road against Westfield State University on Tuesday, September 1 at 4 p.m. They play their first home game on the brand-new artificial turf at the Westside Athletic Complex on Thursday, September 3 at 7 p.m. WestConn will open league play on September 12 against Vermont State University Castleton on the road and its final game of the 20-game slate will be on the road at non-conference opponent Bridgewater State University on October 27 at 7 p.m.
