DANBURY, Conn. - Western Connecticut State University women's soccer senior Sophia Onek (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and juniors Morgan Fontaine (Stamford, Conn.), Jasmine Islami (Bethel, Conn.), and Gracen Regan (Monroe, N.J.) were each named to the 2025 CSC Division III Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team.  The foursome also joined seniors Emily Farrell (West Hempstead, N.Y.)and Miranda Martincic (Whitestone, N.Y.) and junior Kate Suazo (Brewster, N.Y.) on the Little East Conference (LEC) 2025 Fall All-Academic Team, while 22 WestConn women's soccer players graced the LEC 2025 Fall Academic Honor Roll and 19 were on the LEC 2026 Spring Academic Honor Roll. 

The Wolves, coached by Alex Harrison (10th season) finished the 2025 campaign with a 13-8-2 overall record and finished tied with Rhode Island College for fourth place in the LEC with a 4-3-1 record against conference teams. The Wolves qualified for the LEC Championship Tournament, winning, 4-1, against Rhode Island College and, 2-0, at Eastern Connecticut before falling at Southern Maine, 3-0, in the league finals.

The 2025 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.  Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. 

To be selected to the LEC Fall All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30. Over 425 student-athletes honored by the league and six WestConn athletes, including Onek and Regan, earned all-conference and all-academic honors this fall.  To be named to the LEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a semester GPA of 3.00 or better and have been an active member of the team at the conclusion of the season.

Onek, the 2023 LEC Rookie of the Year and a three-time All-LEC honoree, scored two goals and added one assist for five points on 23 shots with one game-winner this autumn while appearing in and starting 21 games in the WestConn backfield.  Onek anchored the WestConn defense that allowed 1.57 goals and 13.3 shots per game and recorded eight shutouts.  She was also named to both the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second-Team and New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England Division III Third Team this fall.  An alum of Sachem North High School, Onek graduated from WestConn with a degree in psychology. 

Blacher, a two-time All-LEC First Team selection, scored seven goals with three game-winners (T2nd in LEC) and a team high nine assists (2nd in LEC) for 23 points (10th in LEC) on 31 shots while appearing in and starting 22 games this fall in the WestConn midfield. She converted on all three of her penalty kick attempts. An alum of Northern Highlands High School, Blacher graduated from WestConn in May with a degree in art. 

Islami appeared in 20 games with 17 starts and took 16 shots as a midfielder for WestConn this fall. A graduate Bethel High School, Islami is majoring in nursing at WestConn.  Regan, an All-LEC All-Conference Third Team selection in 2025, appeared in and started 21 games in the WestConn goal this fall, totaling 108 saves for a .783 save percentage and allowing 30 goals for a 1.49 GAA with a league-best seven shutouts and a 12-7-2 record in 1,818 minutes of play.  She was honored as the LEC Goalkeeper of the Week twice this fall.  A graduate of Monroe High School, Regan is majoring in illustration at WestConn.
