PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Western Connecticut State University Wolves were picked to finish first in the Little East Conference (LEC) Mens Lacrosse 2025 Pre-season Poll. WestConn men's lacrosse, coached by
Ryan Cavanagh (11th Season), finished the 2025 season with a 13-7 record and completed a perfect 8-0 run through the LEC conference to capture the regular season title for the third consecutive spring. The Wolves downed Keene State and UMass Boston to win the LEC Championship Tournament. WestConn qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship Tourney, falling at Babson in the opening round.
WestConn received 60 points and four first place votes, just ahead of UMass Boston which garnered 59 points and four first place votes. Plymouth State was third with 46 points and Massachusetts Maritime was fourth with 45 points, while both the Panthers and the Buccaneers received one first-place vote. The Wolves begin the 2025 campaign at home against SUNY Brockport on Saturday February 14 at noon and will hit the road for their first away game of the spring versus Emerson College in Boston on February 18. The Wolves first LEC matchup of the season takes place at home against Massachusetts Maritime on Sunday, March 22.
