WestConn Men's Track And Field Fares Well At Fastrack Invitational

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Sophomore Marciel Do Amaral (Danbury, Conn.) finished 13th in the 60-meter high hurdles with a time of 9.50 seconds to highlight the day, as the Western Connecticut State University Wolves competed against a large field of schools from all NCAA divisions in the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex for the National Fastrack Men's Indoor Track and Field Invitational this afternoon.  WestConn will return to the Big Apple for the NYU Invitational at the New York City Armory on Valentine's Day.

WestConn junior Zenghan Piao (Fairfield, Conn.) added an 18th-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 6.04 meters and a 29th-place leap of 11.66 meters in the triple jump.  Three other Wolves freshman raced in the 3,000-meter run, led by graduate Nick Howlett (North Haven, Conn.) with a time of 9:26.8.  Freshman Jayden Brockington (Niskayuna, N.Y.) was 25th in the weight throw at 11.88 meters and classmate Daniel Nalbatian (Danbury, Conn.) posted a distance of 12.23 meters in the shot put.
