DANBURY, Conn. — Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday. The 10th Wolves of the Week in the 2025-26 year have been selected for their stellar performances on the pitch and the field. First-year forward Madelyn Dwyer (Poughquag, N.Y.) and senior cornerback Tyon Grimes (Hempstead, N.Y.) were named Wolves of the Week.

In the first round of the Little East Conference (LEC) playoffs, Dwyer netted back-to-back goals to lead the WestConn women's soccer team to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Rhode Island College Anchorwoman on Saturday. In the opening 90 seconds of regulation, the forward connected for the Wolves' first goal, followed by the eventual game-winner 50 minutes later for her first multi-goal game.

Grimes delivered career-highs in tackles and pass breakups with 11 total and a trio of PBUs for WestConn football on Saturday, and aided in slowing down a tough Susquehanna offense. The senior was a driving force in holding the River Hawks to only 14 points in the first half — the only other team to stifle their offense was No. 3 Johns Hopkins University. Grimes' second pass breakup forced the visitors to turnover on downs at WestConn's 36-yard line. He also had 0.5 yards for loss.
