DANBURY, Conn. — Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday. The ninth Wolves of the Week in the 2025-26 year have been selected for their stellar performances on the court and the field. Senior outside hitter
Sydney Slupatchuk (New Milford, Conn.) and senior linebacker
Dominic Rienzi (Brewster, N.Y.) were named Wolves of the Week.
Slupatchuk was strong on offense and defense in WestConn's tri-match sweep over Little East Conference opponent Southern Maine and WPI. She totaled 16 kills, 11 assists, 25 digs and a service ace.
Rienzi boasted a career-high 11 total tackles and his first career interception for WestConn football on Saturday against Moravian University.
