Burke and Maldonado Earn LEC Honors for WestConn Men's Tennis

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - For the third-consecutive season, Western Connecticut State University men's tennis senior Aidan Burke (Wilton, Conn.) was named to the Little East Conference (LEC) All-Conference Second Team as Singles players on Thursday. Sophomore Alex Maldonado (Danbury, Conn.) was named to the LEC All-Sportsmanship Team. The Wolves qualified for the post-season for the 14th time and the 11th year in a row. WestConn, coached by Shawn Stillman (12th season), finished the season 6-15 overall record and in fifth place in the league with a 2-4 mark in conference play. The team outlasted Salem State University, 4-3, in the first round before falling to No. 1 Bridgewater State University in the Semifinals.

Burke finished the season with nine Singles wins at the No. 1 position and posted seven wins in partners play. In first first campaign with the Wolves, Maldonado secured nine wins at No. 4 Singles action and 10 doubles wins at No.3 and No. 4.
