Alex Neves (Danbury, Conn.) placed ninth overall in the 5000-meter run as the Western Connecticut State University men's outdoor track & field team competed at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College on Friday. The first-year clocked in at 16:15.88, just .30 seconds behind eighth place.
In the 3000-meter steeplechase elite,
Nick Howlett (North Haven, Conn.) finished seventh with a time of 10:29.89 and came in 13th with a time of 4:21.47 in the 1500-meter run.
WestConn competes in day two at the Silfen Invitational on Saturday.
