DANBURY, Conn.. — Western Connecticut State University sophomores
Marcel Henry (Yonkers, N.Y.) and Armann Sandhu (Abbottsford, British Columbia.) were named to the 2026 CSC Division III Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team. The pair also joined Wolves sophomores
Nicholas Moore (Amherst, N.Y.) and Timothy Pilyugin (Redding, Conn.) and freshman
D.J. Jones (Chester, N.Y.) on the Little East Conference (LEC) Fall Academic Honor Roll. WestConn, coached by 2026 LEC Coach of the Year
Guy Rancourt (7th Season), finished the 2025-26 season with a 21-7 record and a 12-4 mark against conference teams. The Wolves shared the LEC Regular Season title with UMass Boston and defeated Eastern Connecticut, 60-59, in overtime and Keene State, 84-68, to win the LEC Championship crown. WestConn qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament for the first time since 2020 and lost to Catholic, 71-69, at Tufts in the opening round.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Mn's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on April 16. To be named the LEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a semester GPA of 3.00 or better and have been an active member of the team at the conclusion of the term.
Henry led WestConn in scoring at 15.4 ppg (10th in LEC), rebounding with 5.0 per game, and blocks with 30 (4th in LEC), while shooting 54.1 percent (7th in LEC) from the floor. Henry also had 19 steals and 19 assists while playing in all 28 games with 27 starts this season. Henry was named the LEC Player of the Week twice and the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Player of the Week once this winter. A graduate of Iona Prep High School, Henry is majoring in finance at WestConn. Sandhu played in all 28 games with three starts as a combo guard this winter. He averaged 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds while totaling 24 assists and 17 steals. A graduate of W.J. Mouat High School, Sandhu is majoring in business at WestConn.
