PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Western Connecticut State University Wolves were picked to finish first in the Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Lacrosse 2026 Pre-Season Poll. WestConn, coached by
Rachael Griffith (3rd Season), finished the 2025 season with a 17-3 record, its highest-ever win total, and finished second in the LEC with a 7-1 mark against conference teams.
The Wolves defeated Southern Maine, 11-10, and won at Plymouth State, 17-9, to capture their third conference title in five years and downed Merchant Marine, 15-11, in the NCAA Division III Championship First Round before falling at No. 23-ranked Rowan in the NCAA Second Round.
The Wolves received 60 points and six first-place votes, followed by Southern Maine in second with 52 points and one first-place vote, Eastern Connecticut in third with 51 points and a first-place vote, and Plymouth State in fourth with 50 points and the remaining first-place tally.
