Madison Ratchford (Ridge, N.Y.) totaled six goals, one assist, five ground balls and four caused turnovers to lead the Western Connecticut State University Wolves to a 21-4 win over the Rhode Island College Anchorwomen in Little East Conference (LEC) women's lacrosse action this afternoon at Westside Stadium. WestConn improves to 10-1 overall and 4-0 in the league. with its sixth win in a row and its 34th consecutive LEC regular season victory dating back to 2019. The Wolves, ranked No. 5 in its NCAA Region, will host LEC rival Plymouth State, which has upset WestConn in the conference playoffs the last two springs, next on Saturday at 1 p.m. Rhode Island College drops to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the LEC.
WestConn scored early and often, taking a 1-0 lead 36 seconds in on Ratchford's first goal and jumping out to a 6-0 lead with 6:47 left in the first quarter.
