DANBURY, Conn. - The Western Connecticut State University Wolves scored in each of the first five innings but an 11-run sixth inning for Eastern Connecticut State University gave the visiting Warriors a 22-6 victory in Little East Conference (LEC) baseball action this afternoon at Westside Field. WestConn falls to 5-15 with its seventh setback in a row, while the Warriors improve to 19-6. The Wolves will host Manhattanville next on Thursday at 4 p.m. Senior C Nick Moeller (Mahopac, N.Y.) went 3-for-3 at the plate with a run, a double, and three RBIs.
Eastern Connecticut scored five runs in the top of the first inning and led, 9-3, after three frames but Moeller led off the fourth with a single and scored before doubling in two runs in the fifth to make the score, 11-6. The Warriors erupted for 11 runs in the sixth, including four on a grand slam by Emmanuel Zaiter. The Warriors scored their 22 runs on just 13 hits, as seven Wolves pitchers combined to walk 11 batters and hit seven more. The teams combined for six errors. Sophomore
