Vicky Gracy (Bethel, Conn.) added a hat trick and three assists to guide the Western Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team to a 15-1 victory over visiting Farmingdale State University in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at the Westside Athletic Complex.
Senior attacker
Savannah Kom (Danbury, Conn.) added two goals and two helpers while junior midfielder
Faye Junge (Centerport, N.Y.) canned a a pair of scoring strikes for the Wolves.
Junior attacker Emily Sohm (Seaford, N.Y.) broke up the shutout for the visitors when she tallied her fourth goal of the year in the second quarter.
WestConn finished with a whopping 42-9 advantage in shots, while dominating draw controls, 14-5, and ground balls, 20-13. The Wolves also forced 20 turnovers while coughing the ball up just 12 times.
Gracy connected on a pair of goals to give the hosts a 3-0 lead heading into the second quarter. The Wolves stretched the gap to 7-0 when Pota netted her ninth goal of the campaign. Sohm answered for the Rams to make it 7-1 at the break.
WestConn earned running time early in the fourth stanza when Ratchford drilled home her team-leading 14th goal of the slate. They would coast the rest of the way.
With the win, the Wolves improved to 3-0 overall while the Rams stumbled to 0-2. WestConn now leads the all-time series, 9-4. The Rams' last win versus WestConn came in 2018. The Wolves have now won four straight against Farmingdale.Â
WestConn returns to action when they host Worcester State in another non-league tilt on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
