DANBURY, Conn. — Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday. The 14th Wolves of the Week in the 2025-26 year have been selected for their stellar performances on the court and the ice.  Sophomore forward Phil Parker (Rehoboth, Mass. ) and sophomore guard Deona Garcia (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) were named Wolves of the Week.

Parker's short-handed goal led WestConn men's ice hockey to its first program win in the 1-0 shutout over Roger Williams University on Tuesday. 

Garcia had a game-high 17 points in WestConn women's basketball's 70-44 blowout non-conference win against the University of Saint Joseph's (Conn.) on Tuesday. The sophomore also recorded three steals, three assists, a block and a rebound.
