WestConn's Henry Named MET Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After a 2-0 week for the Western Connecticut State University men's basketball team, Marcel Henry (Yonker, N.Y.) was named to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II/III Player of the Week on Tuesday. The center was also named to the Little East Conference (LEC) Player of the Week on Monday.

Henry averaged 24.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 66 percent (19-of-29) from the floor and 79 percent (11-of-14) from the charity stripe in a 2-0 week for the Wolves. The sophomore scored a career-high 28 points in a 101-92 non-conference win at Hartford, sinking 11-of-19 shots from the field and grabbed seven rebounds.

In WestConn's 92-77 league win over Plymouth State, Henry netted 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor, while pulling down 10 rebounds and blocking a pair of shots.
 
He is ranked seventh this season in LEC scoring (17.6 ppg) and ninth in rebounds (6.3 rpg).
