Dylan Jackson (Monroe, Conn.) were honored as the Landmark Conference Football Defensive and Offensive Player of the Week, respectively, for their outstanding play in the Wolves' 52-19 victory against Catholic on Saturday. The Wolves, coached by
Kevin Jones, are 5-4 overall and 2-3 in the Landmark heading into the regular-season finale at Wilkes on Saturday, November 15.
Simmons led the Wolves with eight tackles (five solo) and added a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, as the WestConn defensive line held the Cardinals to 3.2 yards per carry in the victory. Jackson completed 21 of 31 passes for 314 yards and a touchdown, while running for an eight-yard touchdown on Saturday. Jackson, who also received Landmark Football Offensive Player of the Week on September 29 for his fine play at Kean, threw his touchdown pass from 20 yards away
