WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Western Connecticut State University baseball squad dropped a 7-2 decision at the University of Hartford in a non-league matchup on Thursday afternoon.
Senior infielder
Jesse Dunn (Bedford, N.Y.) tallied an RBI triple while junior
Nicholas Moeller (Mahopac, N.Y.) drove in the other run for the Wolves.Â
Trailing 4-0 heading into the fifth inning, Moeller got the visitors on the board when he roped a single to the outfield, scoring Dunn.
Dunn would finish the game with three hits, while rookie infielder
Bryan Birkl (Farmingdale, N.Y.) added a trio of hits as well. Classmate
Jayson Hannah (Staten Island, N.Y.) also contributed with a pair of base knocks.Â
With the loss, the Wolves dropped to 5-24 overall while the Hawks improved to 8-21-1. WestConn returns to action when they host cross-state archrival Eastern Connecticut on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
