Cameron Gallon (York, Pa.) tallied a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds to lift the Western Connecticut State University men's basketball squad to an 85-59 victory at Little East Conference nemesis UMass Boston on Wednesday evening.

Jaheim Young (Brooklyn, N.Y.) netted a game-high 18 points while junior guard
Jeremiah Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y) canned nine while handing out a game-high five assists for the Wolves.
Two Beacon reserves finished in double figures as Carson Meczywor and Alex Woolery earned 12 and 10 points, respectively, to pace the hosts.
WestConn took control early and would not look back. The visitors raced out to a 44-24 halftime advantage. They shot a blistering 47 percent from the field while holding UMass Boston to just 28 percent. The Wolves also hopped on the glass, pulling down 25 boards, while the Beacons were held to eight.
It was the same story in the second half. WestConn, who led wire-to-wire for the game, would not slow down. The lead ballooned to 34 points in the frame when Gallon sank a pair of free throw attempts. The Beacons could not answer.
With the win, the Wolves earned their sixth straight win, improving to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in league play, while UMass Boston dropped to 2-7 and 1-1. WestConn will look to continue its winning ways when they head to Vermont State University Castleton for an LEC battle on Saturday at 4 p.m.
