WestConn Falls To Western New England, 8-1

Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Freshman Caleb Harris (Guilford, Conn.) earned his first collegiate victory with a 6-3, 6-1 showing over Sam Chipman at sixth-flight singles, but the Western Connecticut State University lost to Western New England University, 8-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

At #2 doubles, WestConn's Jay Kilcourse (New Fairfield, Conn.) and Mitchell Kindred (New Fairfield, Conn.) fought off three match points to force a tiebreaker, but unfortunately they faltered and lost 7-5 in the breaker against Mike Robichaud and Sebastian Smreczak..

"Today was a winnable match, or at the very least, a match where we could have won more courts," stated WestConn head coach Shawn Stillman.  "Playing under pressure and winning matches is a process that needs to be learned. With every match, the team continues to build confidence."

WestConn wraps up its southernn swing against Lancaster Bible College on Wedensday, March 16 at 4:30 pm.
