Dominique DeMarsico (Danbury, Conn.) erupted to net a game-high six goals, while sophomore midfielder
Vicky Gracy (Bethel, Conn.) added four and an assist to lead the Western Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team to a 13-5 non-conference victory over visiting Western New England University on Thursday night.

Alexa Riggio (Massapequa, N.Y.) notched a goal and dished out a helper for the hosts.
Sophomore attacker Anabella Arias (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) paced the Golden Bears with two goals in the losing effort.Â
WestConn outshot WNEU by a 29-16 margin, while also converting 3-of-8 free position shots.Â
It was a slow paced first half filled with penalties. However, WestConn managed to capitalize as DeMarsico netted a pair of her goals with the player advantage. Gracy would tally her second of the contest shortly before the break, widening the advantage to 8-2.
The paced picked up in the third quarter. DeMarsico notched her 15th goal of the season before junior attacker Ally Hill (Storrs, Conn.) cut the deficit to 9-4 for the Golden Bears. WestConn would counter with a 4-1 run in the final stanza. Gracy netted her team-leading 19th goal of the year before DeMarsico added her 16th to round out the count.Â

Anna Schipf (Babylon, N.Y.) improved to 3-0 overall and stopped nine shots, while sophomore netminder Faith Graveline (North Attleboro, Mass.) dropped to 2-2 and finished with one save before being relieved by classmate Riley Franzo (Canyon Lake, Calif.) - who recorded three saves.\
With the win, WestConn improved to 4-0 overall while WNEU fell to 2-2. WestConn will look to stretch its win streak to five when they travel to Florida to square up against John Carroll University in a neutral site matchup on Satruday at 8 a.m.
