Talho Nets Equalizer as Wolves Remain Undefeated at Drew

MADISON, N.J. - The Western Connecticut State University men's soccer team scored the equalizer with less than four minutes remaining to earn a 1-1 tie at non-conference opponent Drew University to remain undefeated on Tuesday night at Ranger Stadium.

After being pulled down just outside the box, WestConn senior midfielder Payton Blynn (New Milford, Conn.) roped a free kick into a crowd. Sophomore Kadin Talho (Waterbury, Conn.) got a piece of the ball before it ricocheted off a defender into the twine to knot the count at 1-1.

With the deadlock, the Wolves moved to 14-0-1 overall, while Drew went to 10-1-3.

The hosts pierced the scoring column less than five minutes into the contest when Christian Tyson headed home a feed for his eighth goal of the season.

WestConn held the edge in shots, 17-6, while also holding a lead in corner kicks, 6-2.

The Wolves, which earlier on Tuesday moved into the United Soccer Coaches' national poll as also receiving votes, return to action for a Little East Conference matchup at UMass Dartmouth on Saturday at noon.  WestConn is currently ranked fifth in the USC Region I poll.
