Box Score SCRANTON, Penn. - Despite a team-high 15 kills from senior middle hitter
Abbi Debes (New Milford, Conn.), the Western Connecticut State University women's volleyball squad dropped a tightly contested match to Lebanon Valley College, 3-1 (25-27, 25-23, 23-25, 20-25) on Day One of the Scranton Invitational on Friday night. After notching a season opening victory against SUNY New Paltz earlier in the week, WestConn fell to 1-1 overall.Â
Graduate students
Victoria Korzan (Southbury, Conn.) and
Victoria Alomar (Naranjito, P.R.) chipped in with eight kills apiece, while junior
Taylor Rohan (Yonkers, N.Y.) notched four blocks for WestConn.Â
The duo of Reily Shelly and Mikiah Sangrey each finished with 18 kills to lead Lebanon Valley while Ali Whitworth handed out a game-high 34 assists.Â
WestConn will look to rebound tomorrow when they meet host Scranton at 11 a.m. before squaring up against Vassar later in the day.
