PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Western Connecticut State University women's volleyball team earned major recognition from the Little East Conference (LEC) for the 2025 season. Junior outside hitter
Julia Stoliker (Red Hook, N.Y.) was named the Offensive Player of the Year and selected to the the All-LEC First Team, while senior setter
Maggie Ferguson (Southbury, Conn.) earned both Setter of the Year and a spot on the All-LEC First Team. Senior outside hitter
Sydney Slupatchuk (New Milford, Conn.) was also chosen for the LEC Volleyball Sportsmanship Team.
Stoliker capped her strongest season yet, leading the Wolves with 359 kills (2nd in LEC), 46 service aces, and 306 digs across 95 sets in 27 matches. She also finished first in the conference in points (424) and earned LEC Offensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks this fall. Stoliker continues to build an impressive resume that includes 2023 LEC Rookie of the Year, 2023 All-LEC First-Team, and recognition on the 2023 and 2024 LEC Academic Honor Roll as a marketing major at WestConn.
In her first season with WestConn, Ferguson made an immediate and dominant impact after transferring from Pace University. She led the LEC with 908 assists (9.56 per set) and added a team-high 47 service aces, 70 kills, and 139 total points while appearing in all 27 matches and 95 sets. A four-time LEC Setter of the Week this season, Ferguson is majoring in interdisciplinary studies and previously earned CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-Conference honors during her time at Pace.
Slupatchuk rounded out her senior campaign with strong contributions on both offense and defense, posting 186 kills, 25 service aces, and reaching her 100th career ace milestone at the Oswego Invitational. She also recorded 316 digs (10th in the LEC), 12 blocks, and 217.5 total points while playing 93 sets across 27 matches. A health promotion studies major with a focus in fitness and wellness at WestConn, Slupatchuk has been a consistent academic standout, earning placement on the 2022, 2023, and 2024 LEC Academic Honor Roll as well as the 2023 LEC All-Academic Team.
