DANBURY, Conn. - Despite a team-high 12 kills and a match-high five blocks from senior middle hitter
Abbi Debes (New Milford, Conn.), the Western Connecticut State University women's volleyball team fell to visiting Little East Conference opponent UMass-Boston, 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 26-24, 25-21) on Senior Night (Friday) at Feldman Arena.
With the loss, WestConn dropped to 15-7 overall and 4-3 in league play, while the Beacons improved to 11-11 and 4-3.
Senior outside hitter Marcelle Tiscareno (El Paso, Texas) paced the visitors with a match-high 15 kills on a stellar .542 hitting percentage, while graduate student Emilia Czapiewska (Saint Paul, Minn.) added 11.
WestConn's

Victoria Korzan (Southbury, Conn.),
Ali Brochu (Winsted, Conn.) and
Skylar Kellam (Fishkill, N.Y.) were all honored before play as they participated in their final regular season home match.
The hosts raced out to an opening set win before UMass-Boston countered to seize the second. The third set was hard fought as the visitors clinched a 26-24 win. WestConn was unable to recover in the fourth.
WestConn returns to action at non-league foe Mitchell College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
