Gracen Regan (Monroe, N.J.) made 10 saves to post a shutout, as the visiting Western Connecticut State University Wolves and the Farmingdale State College Rams tied, 0-0, in women's soccer action this evening at Rams Field. WestConn's record is now 3-1-3 and the Rams move to 3-1-1. The Wolves will visit Little East Conference (LEC) rival Plymouth State next on Saturday at 11 a.m.
WestConn was outshot in the game, 24-10, and, 10-1, with attempts on target but the Wolves' defense held the Rams off for the full 90 minutes. Wolves junior forward
Shannon Anderson (New Milford, Conn.) recorded the lone shot-on-goal for the visitors in the 65th minute, while Regan left he feet to make a stop against Farmingdale's Azwa Chaudry midway through the secons stanza. Charlotte Hoina made one save to register her third shutout in a row for the Rams. Regan made her ninth and 10th saves in the final 5:22 of the game, completing her third clean sheet of the fall and her second in as many games.
