DANBURY, Conn. - Western Connecticut State University volleyball seniors Maggie Ferguson (Southbury, Conn.) and Isabella Pincince (West Hartford, Conn.) were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Pincince joined Sydney Slupatchuk (New Milford, Conn.) on the Little East Conference (LEC) Fall Academic Team earlier this season, while 11 WestConn volleyball players graced the LEC 2025 Fall Academic Honor Roll and 10 were on the LEC 2026 Spring Academic Honor Roll.  Most recently, WestConn volleyball received an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) 2025-26 Team Academic Award.  WestConn, coached by Don Ferguson (13th Season) concluded the 2025 campaign with a 20-7 overall record, a 5-3 mark in conference play, and a fifth-place LEC finish.  The Wolves downed Eastern Connecticut, 3-1, in the LEC First Round before falling, 3-0, at UMass Dartmouth in the semifinals.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.  Over 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball teams maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award.  To be selected to the Fall All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.  A total of 426 student-athletes were honored by the league. To be named the LEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a semester GPA of 3.00 or better and have been an active member of the team at the conclusion of the season.

Ferguson was the LEC Setter of the Year and an All-LEC First Team selection after transferring from Pace University in 2025. She led the LEC with 908 assists (9.56 per set) and added a team-high 47 service aces, 70 kills, and 139 total points while appearing in all 27 matches and 95 sets. A four-time LEC Setter of the Week this season, Ferguson is majoring in interdisciplinary studies and previously earned CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-Conference honors during her time at Pace.

Pincince, a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection, registered 34 service aces and 214 digs while playing in all 27 matches and 95 sets as a defensive specialist for the Wolves this fall.  An alum of Conard High School, Pincince graduated from WestConn in May with a degree in nursing.  Slupatchuk rounded out her senior campaign with strong contributions on both offense and defense, posting 186 kills, 25 service aces, and reaching her 100th career ace milestone at the Oswego Invitational. She also recorded 316 digs (10th in the LEC), 12 blocks, and 217.5 total points while playing 93 sets across 27 matches. An alum of New Milford High School, Slupatchuk graduated from WestConn in May with a degree in health promotion studies.
