Isabella Pota (East Meadow, N.Y.) notched a game-high eight goals while senior attack
Madison Ratchford (Ridge, N.Y.) added six scoring strikes and one assist as the Western Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team cruised past Worcester State University in a non-conference matchup on the road on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Wolves improved to 8-3, while the Lancers fell to 7-5. The hosts outshot the visitors by a 35-15 margin while also winning the ground battle, 28-21.
Worcester State snagged an early 3-1 advantage before the Wolves responded with a roar. Pota and Ratchford reeled off a 5-0 run that carried into the second quarter, putting the Wolves on top, 6-3. WestConn continued the barrage and would head into the locker room with a 10-5 advantage.

Morgan Brace (Brewster, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the Wolves with a pair before the Lancers concluded play with a marker with four seconds remaining.
The Wolves have now won their last three and return to action when they host the University of Southern Maine in a Little East Conference tilt on Saturday at Noon.
