WestConn Men's Golf Opens 2026 Spring Season At Alling Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Sophomore Brayden Kassel (Washougal, Wash.) and freshman Logan Starks (Mechanicville, N.Y.) each shot a 79 to lead the Western Connecticut State University Wolves to fifth place in the team standings at the Alling Men's Golf Invitational this afternoon.  WestConn totaled 321 as a squad to edge sixth-place Eastern Connecticut by two strokes and finish three strokes shy of Emmanuel College in fourth place.  Springfield won the team title with a score of 303.  Kassel, playing in his first match since transferring back to WestConn from Paine College in Georgia, and Starks tied for 11th on the leaderboard, while sophomore Anthony Nanfito (MIddletown, Conn.) fired an 80 and junior Timothy Larson (New Milford, Conn.) shot an 83.  WestConn will return to the links next week in the RIC Spring Invitational on April 17 and 18 at Valley Country Club in Warwick, R.I.
