WARWICK, R.I. - Freshman
Logan Starks (Mechanicville, N.Y.) fired a 150 to place seventh on the leaderboard and lead the Western Connecticut State University Wolves to fifth in the team standings in the RIC Men's Golf Spring Invitational at Valley Country Club this weekend. Friday's round was cut short due to thunderstorms so several players were forced to finish the first round this morning. WestConn totaled 626 as a squad, eight better than sixth-place Roger Williams and just three strokes behind fourth-place Springfield.
Starks tied Lesley's Marc Bota for the lowest score in the opening round with an even-par 72 before shooting a 78 in the second round this afternoon. WestConn sophomore
Anthony Nanfito (Middletown, Conn.) tied for 14th with a 154, while junior
Timothy Larson (New Milford, Conn.) and sophomore
Brayden Kassel (Washougal, Wash.) tied for 21st with a 156. The Wolves will hit the links again on Monday in the ECSU Spring Invitational the Mohegan Sun Golf Club.
