Vicky Gracy (Bethel, Conn.) had five goals and four assists to lead the visiting Western Connecticut State University Wolves to a 24-6 win over the Rhode Island College Anchorwomen in Little East Conference (LEC) women's lacrosse action this afternoon at Alumni Stadium. WestConn improves to 10-3 overall and stays perfect with five conference wins against no losses. The Wolves have won five games in a row and will visit the league rival University of Massachusetts-Boston Beacons next on Saturday at 11 a.m. Rhode Island College drops to 1-10 overall and 0-6 in the LEC.
WestConn dominated from the start, going ahead, 11-0, after one quarter and, 17-0, at halftime. The Wolves outshot the Anchorwomen, 38-14, allowed just six shots on goal, and won 20 of 30 draw controls. Gracy assisted junior midfielder
Isabella Pota (East Meadow, N.Y.) on the game's first goal 57 seconds after the opening draw, and scored her first goal on a feed by Pota two minutes later. Gracy finished the opening quarter with three goals and two assists and Pota amassed seven points on three goals and four assists by the first break.
Brie Macaruso scored the first Rhode Island College goal 2:09 into the second half and Lily Nees scored three times for the Anchorwomen in the second half, but Gracy had a goal and two assists and senior

Kyla Murnane (Bethpage, N.Y.) scored a goal and scooped three ground balls, while junior
Norah Zuidema (Marlboro, N.Y.) needed to make just two saves. Two Rhode Island College goalies totaled seven saves.
