BOSTON, Mass. - The visiting Western Connecticut State University trailed, just 3-2 in the sixth inning of game one and led in the fifth inning of game two, but ended the day with a pair of losses against the University of Massachusetts-Boston Beacons in Little East Conference (LEC) baseball action this afternoon at Monan Park. WestConn lost its LEC opener, 11-2, and the second game, 8-5, to the Beacons to fall to 4-8 and see its losing streak extend to seven games. UMass Boston improves to 7-6 overall and 2-0 in the league. The Wolves will visit Trinity College next on Wednesday, March 25 at 3:30 p.m.
WestConn was down, 3-0, after five innings of the first game but scored twice in the sixth frame thanks to a two-out, two-run single by sophomore

UMass Boston tied the game at 5-5 on a sol homer by Ben Sherry in the fifth inning and took a 6-5 lead when Sherry singled and came around to score on a squeeze play.
