The offenses were active in the first half, as WestConn senior goalkeeper
Gracen Regan (Monroe, N.J.) and Dolphins goalie Kaitlyn Grady combined for seven saves between them. WestConn freshman
Leah Tomeo (West Islip, N.Y.) blasted in a shot from straight-on after the ball was headed away from the goal by the Dolphins' defense, but officials ruled that the Wolves were offsides on the play. Sophomore
Delaney Israel (Medford, N.Y.) made a steal in the Mount St. Vincent backfield but has her quick shot stopped by Grady in the 13th minute. Hernande was denied on a similar play to Israel's by Hernandez in the 37th minute, and Wolves sophomore
Morgan Marcuss (Meriden, Conn.) received a pass from Anderson and got behind the Dolphin defense but was unable to get her shot on target.
Anderson turned the game upside down right after intermission, scoring three times between the 45:59 mark and the 53:03 mark. The first marker was unassisted, while Kiana Navarette assisted on the second and Michelle Zuniga fed Hernandez on the last one. Anderson shot just high from the left flank in the 61st minute and got the Wolves on the scoreboard shortly after that off a pass by Israel. Marcuss came close on a couple more chances and sophomore teammate
Olga Mayen-Perez (Brookfield, Conn.) had a header from close end up in Grady's hands in the 77th minute. WestConn freshman goalkeeper
Madison Gonzalez (Garden City, N.Y.) shined in her collegiate debut with five saves in 27 minutes in the second half. Grady finished with six stops for the Dolphins.
