KING'S POINT, N.Y. - Junior OH Julia Stoliker (Red Hook, N.Y.) totaled 32 kills to lead the Western Connecticut State University Wolves to a sweep of the United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners and the University of Hartford Hawks in a volleyball tri-match this afternoon at Liebertz Gymnasium.  WestConn, which blanked the host Mariners in the first match of the day and downed the Hawks, 3-1, in the afternoon, improves to 5-2 and extends its winning streak to five victories in a row.  Merchant Marine, which edged Hartford, 3-2, in the other match, is now 5-3 and Hartford is 2-4.  WestConn will visit Trinity (Conn.) next on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

WestConn made quick work of Merchant Marine, winning, 25-19, 25-16, and, 25-16.  Stoliker notched 15 kills and finished with a .313 hitting percentage against the Mariners, while junior S Maggoe Ferguson (Southbury, Conn.) totaled 38 assists and 12 digs, and both senior Delia Clouden (Newtown, Conn.) and freshman Hallie Robillard (Middletown, Conn.) added eight kills.  Against the Hawks, WestConn built a 2-0 lead with wins by scores of 25-20 and 25-13, but dropped the third set, 25-14.  The Wolves won a close fourth set, 25-21.  Stoliker had 17 kills and 11 digs versus Hartford, Clouden added 10 kills, Ferguson registered 33 assists and 14 digs, and senior Jersey Jones (Middletown, N.Y.) made a match-high 21 digs.
