PROVIDENCE, R.I. -  Western Connecticut State University freshman midfielder Ellenoire Schoen (Newtown, Conn.) was named the first Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Rookie of the Week of the 2025 season.  Schoen scored one goal and registering a pair of defensive saves in the Wolves 3-1 season-opening win over St. Joseph (Conn.) on Sunday. Her first career goal put WestConn ahead 2-0 in the third quarter.   WestConn, coached by Dani McDonnell (21st Season), will visit Dean next on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
