Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - After earning four straight victories, the Western Connecticut State University men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss at non-conference foe Western New England University on Monday. With the loss, the Wolves dropped to 5-7 overall.
Although senior
Kevin Tenesaca (Danbury, Conn.) and junior
Aidan Burke (Wilton, Conn.) were serving for the match at 5-4, they were unable to close out the match as they eventually fell, 7-5.Â
In singles action, Little East Conference Player of the Week, Burke, was the only winner squeezing out a close match 7-6, 7-5 from the No. 2 spot.
"We've had a pretty busy stretch over the last week with the poor weather, so we'll enjoy the next few days as we prepare for our next conference match this weekend," stated WestConn head coach Shawn Stillman following play.
The Wolves return to the court at LEC nemesis Bridgewater State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
