GORHAM, ME - The Western Connecticut State University men's tennis team edged the University of Southern Maine, 5-4, in a Little East Conference matchup on Sunday at Costello Sports Complex. With the win, the Wolves improved to 5-6 overall and 2-1 in league play. The Huskies dropped to 1-5 and 0-2.

Aidan Burke (Wilton, Conn.) got things started for the visitors as they rolled to an 8-2 win to begin doubles action. Senior
Nicholas Peschier (Bridgeport, Conn.) and rookie
Axel Javier (Danbury, Conn.) teamed up for the win from the No. 2 doubles slot for the Wolves.
In singles play, Burke notched the first win for the Wolves out of the No. 3 spot, 6-0, 6-0. Shortly thereafter, Tenesaca earned a three set victory from the top slot. Rookie
Jose Zambrano (Danbury, Conn.) earned the final singles win for the Wolves, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.Â
