ORLANDO, Fla. - Playing in their first-ever matchup, the Western Connecticut State University women's tennis squad fell to Edgewood College, 7-0, on Monday during their spring trip in Florida at the USTA National Campus.

Edgewood College would only drop one point in doubles action. Evelyn Taylor and Marissa Light teamed up in top doubles for a 6-0 victory. Hattie Plenty and Madelyn Connaughty followed up with a 6-1 final in second doubles.
 
Christina Ekkela and Sarah Emory put a bow on doubles with a 6-0 tally in the third slot.
 
Taylor kept the momentum rolling into singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory in top billing. Light and Plenty won by identical 6-0, 6-0 finals in the No. 2 and 3 singles respectively to clinch the match.

With the loss, WestConn dropped to 5-11 overall while Edgewood improved to 14-4. The Wolves will seek to rebound when they square up against Crown College on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
