ORLANDO, Fla. - Playing in their first-ever matchup, the Western Connecticut State University women's tennis squad fell to Edgewood College, 7-0, on Monday during their spring trip in Florida at the USTA National Campus.
Edgewood College would only drop one point in doubles action.Â

Madelyn Connaughty followed up with a 6-1 final in second doubles.

Sarah Emory put a bow on doubles with a 6-0 tally in the third slot.

Taylor kept the momentum rolling into singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory in top billing. Light and Plenty won by identical 6-0, 6-0 finals in the No. 2 and 3 singles respectively to clinch the match.
With the loss, WestConn dropped to 5-11 overall while Edgewood improved to 14-4. The Wolves will seek to rebound when they square up against Crown College on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
