DANBURY, Conn. - Senior forward
Cameron Gallon (York, Pa.) erupted for game-highs of 29 points and six assists to lead the Western Connecticut State University men's basketball team to a come-from-behind 83-66 win over visiting Rhode Island College in a Little East Conference matchup on Wednesday evening at Feldman Arena.
With the victory, the Wolves improved to 15-8 overall and 11-3 in league play, while the Anchormen sank to 14-9 and 9-5. WestConn currently ranks second in LEC play behind Keene State, who remains undefeated in the conference at 12-0. WestConn will host a battle between the two squads on Saturday afternoon.Â

Keeshawn Jones (Middletown, N.Y.) continued his red-hot shooting for the Wolves, finishing with 17 points on 7-of-11 attempts. Classmate guard
Jeremiah Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 15 which included 9-of-11 from the charity stripe.
The hosts trailed by eight in the early moments when Xavier Mendez converted a bucket to give RIC a 14-6 advantage. WestConn fought back with a furious run to seize a 25-18 advantage when Jones powered down the lane for a hoop. However, RIC retaliated with a run of their own to hold 34-29 lead at halftime.
WestConn opened the second stanza with a 10-0 run to regain a 40-37 advantage when senior forward
Jourdan Belcher (Elmsford, N.Y.) notched a score from inside the paint. The contest remained close until the Wolves rounded it out with a blazing 20-4 surge en route to the win.Â
Sophomore guard Quinton Chapman (Danbury, Conn.) raced downcourt for a layup off a feed from Gallon to round out the barrage. The Wolves enter Saturday's heavyweight matchup with a seven-game win streak. The Owls won the first contest of the season between the two and currently stand at 18-3 overall.Â
