WestConn Women's Soccer Drops Final LEC Game At Keene State

KEENE, N.H. - The visiting Western Connecticut State University Wolves lost, 3-2, against the Keene State College Owls in Little East Conference (LEC) women's soccer action this afternoon.  WestConn drops to 10-7-2 overall and finished the LEC slate at 4-3-1 with its second one-goal, conference loss this week.  Keene State remains unbeaten in the league at 3-0-4 and improves to 8-4-6 overall.  The Wolves will end the regular season on Tuesday with a road tilt at Fitchburg State at 6 p.m. with the LEC Championship Tournament set to begin next weekend.  Freshman Noelle Haase (Beacon, N.Y.) scored the Wolves goal in the 60th minute to tie the score a 1-1.

The first half ended scoreless with each team firing off seven shots including two on target by WestConn sophomore Shannon Anderson (New Milford, Conn.) and freshman Madelyn Dwyer (Poughquag, N.Y.) that were stopped by Owl goalie Riley Andriski.  Keene State's Keely Giordano broke the scoring drought just 26 after halftime.  WestConn knotted the score with 29:43 on the clock when senior Hannah Blacher (Allendale, N.J.) assisted Haase on her second goal of the season.  The Owls answered quickly with the game-winner off the foot of Bryn Dickinson and assisted by Elizabeth Tschudin.  Blacher, senior Sophia Onek (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.), and freshman Delaney Israel (Medford, N.Y.) got off shots-on-goal in the final 28 minutes and Onek hit the post in the final minute for WestConn.  Wolves junior goalie Gracen Regan (Monroe, N.J.) and Andriski both finished with six saves.  The Owls outshot WestConn, 17-8, in the second half.
