The teams traded points throughout the first and third sets, but UMass Dartmouth was able to finish the job in the final stages of each. The second set saw the home team pull ahead after a 10-10 tie, maintaining control for the remainder of the set.
Senior defensive specialist Emily Pogorelec (Wayne, N.J.) anchored the Corsairs' defense with 23 digs, while her teammate junior outside hitter Allison Pate (Sebring, Fl.) paced the offense with 16 kills.
With the loss, WestConn drops to 1-3 in conference play while UMass Dartmouth remains undefeated at 3-0. The Wolves will look to bounce back during Homecoming weekend, hosting Little East Conference opponent UMass Boston on Saturday at 12 p.m.
